EDU 641: Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement Course - Success in the Classroom for Our English Language Learners

Instructor: Diane Mehegan

Format: This course meets each Monday evening from 5pm - 8pm via zoom, beginning February 2nd and ending May 10th. All other coursework is completed asynchronously throughout each week. Class will not be held on February 16th or April 20th and no assignments will be due those weeks. Successful completion of this course earns the Massachusetts SEI Endorsement as well as 3 graduate credits/67.5 PDPs.

Course Description: The purpose of this course is to prepare the Commonwealth’s teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively shelter their content instruction so that our growing population of English language learners (ELLs) can access curriculum, achieve academic success, and contribute their multilingual and multicultural resources as participants and future leaders in the 21st century global economy. Successful completion of this course earns the MA SEI Endorsement.
